How to Set Up Leech Protection in cPanel?

Leech Protection helps prevent users from sharing their access credentials to restricted areas of your site. Here’s a simple guide on how to set it up in cPanel:

  1. Log in to cPanel
Login to your cPanel login page by entering your username and password, by clicking the "Log in" button in the cPanel dashboard.
  2. Navigate to the Security Section
Look for the "Security" section on your cPanel dashboard. Click on "Leech Protection."
  3. Select the Directory
Browse to the directory you want to protect. Click on the folder icon to navigate through your directories. Click on the directory name to select it.
  4. Enable Leech Protection
In the "Maximum Logins Per Username" section, enter the most logins that are permitted for each user in 24 hours. If you wish to restrict it to four logins, for instance, type "4".
In the "Redirect URL" section, enter the URL to which users will be forwarded if their login limit is exceeded. This might be your primary website or a custom error page.
  5. Configure Additional Settings
Optionally, you can set an email address to receive notifications if leeching is detected. Enter the email in the "Send Email Alert To" field.
Enable account suspension if desired by checking the box next to "Disable Compromised Accounts." This will automatically suspend any accounts that exceed the log in limit.
  6. Save Your Settings
Click the "Enable" button to activate Leech Protection for the selected directory. Leech Protection is now enabled and configured for your directory.

By following these steps, you can set up Leech Protection in cPanel to safeguard your site from unauthorized access and misuse of user credentials
