How to set up Email Filters in cPanel?


Email filters help you manage incoming emails by automatically sorting, deleting, or redirecting them based on rules you set. Here’s how you can set up email filters in cPanel:

  1. Login to cPanel: Open your web browser, go to the login page, and enter your username and password.
  2. Go to the Email Section: Once you’re logged into your cPanel dashboard, look for the section labeled "Email." 
  3. Click on Email Filters: In the Email section, click on the icon  "Email Filters."This will take you to the page where you can create and manage filters for individual email accounts.
  4. Select an Email Account: If you have several email accounts, you must choose which one you want to apply filters for. To set up filters for your email account, simply click on the "Manage Filters" link located next to the specific email account that you wish to filter.
  5. Create a New Filter: To start creating a new filter, use the "Create a New Filter" option.
  6. Name Your Filter: Give your filter a name that describes what it does. This will help you remember what each filter is for.
  7. Set the Rules: Set the conditions for your filter. Here's how.
    1. From: Filter emails by the sender's email address.
    2. Subject: Filter emails using the words in their subject line.
    3. To: Filter emails by the recipient's email address.
    4. Contains: Use this option to filter emails including specified words or phrases.

You can combine multiple conditions to make your filter more specific.
Choose the Action: Decide what happens to emails that meet your filter conditions. Common actions include:

  1. Discard Message: The email will be automatically deleted.
  2. Redirect to email: Forward the email to a different address.
  3. Deliver to Folder: Move the email to its designated folder.
  4. Mark as read: Mark the email as read.
  5. Save Your Filter: After you've entered your conditions and actions, click the "Create"button to save your filter.
  6. Manage Filters: You can view, edit, or delete your filters from the Email Filters page. This allows you to fine-tune your filters as needed.

You’ve now set up email filters in cPanel. These filters will help you manage your emails more efficiently by automatically handling unwanted emails or sorting important messages.
