How to Set Global Email Filters in cPanel?


Global email filters in cPanel help you manage incoming emails for all your email accounts under a domain. These filters can automatically sort, delete, or redirect emails based on rules
you set. Here’s how you can set up global email filters in simple steps.

  1. Login to cPanel: Open your web browser, go to the login page, and enter your username and password.
  2. Find the Email Section.: Once in the cPanel dashboard, look for the "Email" section.To access the Global Email Filters, go to the Email section and click on "Global Email Filters." This tool allows you to create and oversee filters that affect all email accounts within your domain.
  3. Add a New Filter: Click on the "Create a New Filter" button to set up a new filter.
  4. Name Your Filter: Give your filter a name that describes what it does. This will help you remember what each filter is for. Set the Rules: Define the conditions for your filter. Here’s how:
    1. From: Filter emails based on the sender’s email address.
    2. Subject: Filter emails based on words in the subject line.
    3. To: Filter emails by the recipient’s email address.
    4. Contains: Use this option to filter emails that contain specific words or phrases.

To further limit your filter, you can combine more than one condition.

Select the Action: Choose the course of action for emails that fit your filter criteria. Common actions include:

  1. Discard Message: The email will be removed automatically.
  2. Redirect to Email: Forward the email to another address.
  3. Deliver to Folder: Move the email to a chosen folder.
  4. Mark as Read: The email should be marked as read.
  5. Save Your Filter: Remember to save your filter by clicking the "Create" button after selecting your actions and conditions.
  6. Manage Filters: You can view, edit, or delete your filters from the Global Email Filters page. This allows you to fine-tune your filters as needed.
