How to Install SSL/TLS Certificate in cPanel?


SSL/TLS certificates help secure your website by encrypting information transmitted between your website and its visitors. Follow these steps to install an SSL/TLS certificate in cPanel:

  1. Accessing SSL/TLS Manager
    1. Login to cPanel: Use your cPanel username and password to log into your hosting account.
    2. Navigate to SSL/TLS Manager: On the cPanel dashboard, locate the "SSL/TLS Manager" and  click on it.
  2. Generate a Certificate Signing Request (CSR)
    1. Select, "Generate, view, or delete SSL certificate signing requests."
    2. Fill in the Form the required details such as domain name, organization details, etc.
    3. Make sure the information is accurate as it will be used to generate your certificate.
    4. Generate CSR by clicking the "Generate" button to create your CSR.
  3. Uploading and Installing the SSL Certificate
    1. Return to SSL/TLS Manager: Click "Return to SSL/TLS Manager" from the previous screen.
    2. Choose "Manage SSL Sites": Under "Install and Manage SSL for your site (HTTPS)," click on "Manage SSL Sites."
    3. Paste the Certificate: Into the appropriate box, paste your certificate (CRT). The CRT is available from the company that issued the certificate.
    4. Install Certificate: To install your SSL/TLS certificate, click the "Install Certificate" button.
  4. Verifying Installation
    1. Confirmation: You should see a confirmation message indicating that your certificate has been installed successfully.
    2. Test Your SSL: Visit your website using "https://" to ensure that your SSL/TLS certificate is working correctly.
